Magic Basic

Humans do not naturally have magic like other beings do. Humans get magic in other ways or by other forces, being curses, blessings, deals with demons and devils. (learn more about them in the creaturepedia sections!) Magic users have an established system called The Magic Council who makes the laws for magic users and judges the misuse of magic. Normal nonmagic users with authority like officers cannot take on a case if magic is involved as that is now a case for The Magic Council. However, The Magic Council does not take on cases for petty crimes so magic users seem to pass by the law. This has caused a bit of a divide between magic and nonmagic users.

Magic Types

Novice Magic- The kind of magic that any magic user can do regardless of their specialty. It is often known as “magician” magic within the magic user community

Magicians magic used as an insult as even a non magic user can recreate it

Light Magic- The most common magic. Magic that is known through the ages and does not cause self harm to the user.

Blessings- Magic based on their Deity. They do not use mana as their magic is from their Deity and is the only magic that needs to be verbally said (prayers) before a spell is casted.

Forbidden Magic- Magic recognized by the Magic Council as harmful and otherwise threatening to mind and mental wellbeing of a person or humanity.

An example would be love potions or a love spell. Magic users could care less if magic could be life threatening to the user themselves or if they are to battle with one another, manipulation however is forbidden.

Cursed Magic- Magic obtained through spells from the 4 horsemen, through the killing/eating of a sacred creature, Deities/other magical beings and so on. Cursed magic does cause harm to the user (when human). Can also occur when there is an influx of devils in the overworld as they leave remnants behind.

Cursed magic through the spells from the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse have been forbidden for decades but recently cursed magic through killing/eating sacred creatures has now recently been brought to the attention of the magic council. Cursed magic still falls into the forbidden magic category but is significantly different then the rest of the magic used.

Classes

Mage- Specifically only used for elves that use magic

Warlocks-Those who obtain magic through devils or demons

Devils and demons can make a deal based on physical or conceptual things with the user and can consume more based on the deal

Sorcerer-Those who obtain magic through inheritance or curses

Inheritance is based on if there is some trace of elf or Deity in them (which is uncommon)

Clerics-Those who obtain magic through blessings of a Deity

They must have full devotion to that Deity and based on which spells they cast they must have use a prayer. All Clerics need a religious artifact or crystal with them in order to use a blessing/connect with their Deity for spells or to store remanants of mana

Witches- Those who have relationships with devils in order to obtain magic

They do not follow the rules of the council of magic and are wanted. They are most likely chased by reapers.

Alchemist- Those who use a combination of magic and science

Magic Culture

Hair is an important part of magic culture (especially in elven culture), since it can be cut and grown for contracts and other magic situations (spells, potions, offeringings). Warlocks are magic users who are most commonly seen with long hair (apart from elves) due to this. Magic users with short hair are considered to have very limited mana and thought to have weak magic. Cutting one's hair is a very big deal to magic users.

Sabbaths- Ritual parties often held by magic users to summon a devil or multiple. It is often looked down upon as it is usually performed by witches and how explicit a sabbath party can be. It is however, the easiest route to summon a devil

Rituals- There are multiple different types of rituals. However all rituals require magic and a “sacrifice” .

Magic Madness- A phenomenon often common in warlocks going mad for more power causing harm to themselves and others. Speculated to be caused by devils

2nd Sun Theory/The Golden Rule- A theory that the current world is a new universe, the 2nd sun. They believe in the Old Gods and that the God of creation is currently sealed away by the elves in the ancient city originally meant for the Gods. The Gods had made man in a perfect world “The Garden of Eden” but the Gods had gotten into an argument of what to do next in the perfect world growing bored of its perfection. They had given man free will, which in turn made man worship Gods along with the creation of deities with their new found freewill ex. Deity of love. The Deities then made elves. The Gods continued to argue with the direction of this world, not being able to agree they began to kill each other causing a “dark age”. With the few remaining Gods, the elves sealed them away in the ancient city. To bring new life there must be death. Souls for the God of Creation to work with. TBH only FREAKS believe this theory.

Magic Itens

A magic item is often used by mages, a few sorcerers and clerics. Cursed magic sorcerers oftentimes need a magic item to help control their magic through precision and mana usage.

Anything can be a magic item as long as it has been tampered with magic, however not all magic items are good. High grade magic items are those with crystals with flawless clarity. Lower grade magic items like sticks and wooden staffs can be sold to the general public as they can only contain a little magic. Ex.some fireworks have magic in them. All magic items being sold to the general public must only contain simple novice magic that cannot harm the user.
